Labour Day weekend behind us means autumn before us. As always, the calendar is quickly filling up with activities. One event which no-one will want to miss is The Brigadoons concert at St. Finnan’s Cathedral on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Hosted by the Glengarry Fencibles Trust, the event promises to be the highlight of the fall season.
Concert tickets at just $20 each are now available at Auld Kirktown in South Lancaster, and at the Caisse Populaire in Alexandria. Patrons of The Fencibles Trust’s spring gala fundraiser will remember that those tickets sold lightning fast. Don’t delay in securing your spot for the upcoming concert!
All proceeds from the evening will go towards the ongoing restoration and renovation of the historic Bishop’s House in St. Raphael’s, which the Glengarry Fencibles Trust was finally able to purchase in March 2016, after years of persistent efforts. Since then, Trust members’ and volunteers’ enthusiastic work on the grounds and gardens have made a huge difference to the look of the property. It is lovely to know that the Bishop’s House is receiving the attention it deserves. Check out the website for more information on future plans for this community jewel, at www.bishopshouse.ca
