Support
The mission of Glengarry Fencibles Trust is to honour the history of Canada for all Canadians and to advance education through the careful rehabilitation of the Bishop’s House of Glengarry. The House, in St. Raphael’s, South Glengarry, Ontario, was built in 1808 and is among Canada’s most historic buildings.
We envision the Bishop’s House once again playing a vital role in the Glengarry community as a centre of cultural, educational and heritage activities. We invite you to join us in this quest. We have engaged project partners and developed an appropriate business plan. There is still much to do before it can be fully operational.
During the rehabilitation of the house, the funds will be used as follows:
%
Roof, windows, masonry, septic system, new well
%
Interior restoration, new mechanical system, wiring, plumbing
%
Landscaping and drystone work
Pro bono work is being done by the following:
Legal counsel: Larry Filion of Bergeron, Filion Barristers & Solicitors, Cornwall
The Board: Members have done repairs and maintenance, research, organization, communications and fundraising. No board member is benefitting financially from this endeavour.
