The mission of the Glengarry Fencibles Trust is to honour the history of Canada and all Canadians through the careful rehabilitation of the Bishop’s House of Glengarry, in St. Raphael’s, Ontario, built in 1808 and among the most historic buildings in Canada. We envision the Bishop’s House once again fulfilling a vital role in the community as a centre of cultural, educational and heritage activities, and we invite you to join us in this quest. To this end, we have engaged community partners and developed an appropriate business plan. Although the Bishop’s House of Glengarry is showing its wonderful potential, there is still much to do before it can be fully operational.
During the rehabilitation of the house, the funds will be used as follows:
%
Roof, windows, masonry, septic system, new well
%
Interior restoration, new mechanical system, wiring, plumbing
%
Landscaping and drystone work
Pro bono work is being done by the following:
Legal counsel: Larry Filion of Bergeron, Filion Barristers & Solicitors, Cornwall
The Board: Members have done repairs and maintenance, research, organization, communications and fundraising. No board member is benefitting financially from this endeavour.
